Undercurrents of reality

physics visualization, models, and photography

This is my latest work - from research to production. It’s best viewed with anaglyph 3D glasses. These sculptural-based models that are photographed represent physics at the smallest scales. Overall, scale is a fundamental aspect of the human experience, shaping our perceptions and actions in a variety of ways. The scale of our 'subjective large world’ makes sense, and there are many laws of physics that can describe it in exact detail. However, the laws of particle physics are run by another set of rules that clash with our perception of reality. Particles challenge our traditional notions of causality, determinism, and objective reality. This has profound implications for our understanding of ourselves and our world. It challenges our sense of agency, as it becomes unclear whether our actions are free or predetermined by the underlying framework. It's this duality and contradiction of the natural world that interests me.
